The Future of Yoga
Approach
The Therapeutic Yoga Institute emphasizes an evidence-informed, adaptable approach to yoga education. Training focuses on applying yoga as a therapeutic tool, with attention to individual differences, modern lifestyles, and evolving research.
Methodology
All of our programs are designed for both new and experienced students who want to teach with clarity, responsibility, and skill. Our programs follow a structured, progressive methodology. Students learn through a combination of visual, auditory, and experiential methods, allowing them to absorb, apply, and teach material effectively.
Graduates leave with a strong foundation in teaching, the ability to work with a range of students, and the confidence to deliver yoga in a safe, informed, and professional way.
About Us
The Therapeutic Yoga Institute was founded by Julianne Hutchcraft and Andrea Marenco- Snyder (Prema) in 2021. Julianne, a registered nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience and more than a decade in yoga therapy, owns and operates Lotus Care KC Yoga Therapy and Wellness. Prema provides an experiential pedagogical framework that is rooted in applied philosophy, sharing her experience as a sannyasi at Sat Yoga Ashram and serving as faculty at Nexus Yoga Institute.
Their partnership was built on a shared recognition: modern yoga education often lacks depth, clinical relevance, and connection to its therapeutic roots. The Institute was created to address that gap by offering structured, practical training grounded in both traditional practice and modern science.
Their combined expertise integrates anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic application with immersive, lineage-informed study. This interdisciplinary approach prepares students to adapt yoga to real-world needs and diverse populations.
